Description
Polyform F Neutralizer Shaker Bottle (500gm/Bottle)
The strength or concentration of the formalin does
not matter when using PolyForm-F™
While it is most commonly used for 10% Neutral
Buffered Formalin (NBF)—the standard concentration found in medical and
veterinary pathology labs—it is fully capable of neutralizing much higher
concentrations, including 20% NBF and concentrated formaldehyde
solutions.
The primary difference when dealing with varying
concentrations comes down to reaction time and absorption properties:
- 10% Formalin (Standard): The chemical neutralization
and vapor elimination typically take about 5 minutes. - Higher Concentrations
(20%+): It
will successfully neutralize the liquid, but the chemical reaction takes
longer, usually requiring 15 minutes or more to fully complete.
The recommendation is sticking to a consistent
volume-to-weight ratio regardless of concentration:
- Use 1 gram of granules
for every 1 millilitre of spilt formalin liquid. - Ensure the granules are
completely free-flowing before use; if the product has clumped inside its
bottle due to moisture exposure, its neutralization effectiveness will be
heavily compromised.
